MARINA SAN MIGUEL

28° 1' 8" N 16° 36' 48" W

Located at the foot of the coast of San Miguel de Abona, Marina San Miguel sits on a small overview away from nearby Amarilla Golf. Sitting between Amarilla Golf and Golf del Sur, It's a reference in Tenerife among the local marinas, allowing harbor from small, medium and large size vessels, some 344 berths available for use. The marina counts with a full court of amenities and services, from a supermarket, taxi services, bathrooms, and much more. It's a preferred stop among the yacht charter industry since the distance between the western islands gives the yachting enthusiast a perfect base port to come and go from. From Marina San Miguel your only 6-8 hours away from La Gomera and roughly half a day's sail from El Hierro or La Palma, and if you´re more inclined to just sailing nearby, then the proximity to Los Gigantes, Los Cristianos, and the stretch between La Gomera - Tenerife, will most definitely satisfy your expectations of a calm, relaxing sailing trip, all with whales and sea turtles sightings included. Other important things to consider, the marina offers almost around the clock service of security and refueling. There are several hotels or apartments where you can stay in, some less than a few hundred meters away. Taxi service is 24h and you can count with a in-house sailmaker that can readily tidy up your sails in case of last minute problems.

We made a short stop in Marina San Miguel during our sailing holidays in January and February, marina was really nice. The marineros were friendly, we stayed one night to buy supplies for trip to Gran Canary. We did not like that supermarket nearby was very small, we had to take another taxi outside to another supermarket, this one had all we needed. Next to marina you have Amarilla Golf, nice place and views from yacht are great during sunny weather. Marina also has a bar and sailmaker for if you have problems with sail during trip. Make sure to check weather conditions before leaving marina, the area of San Miguel, wind blows strong with strong forecast.
